The Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA) Program is an alternative pathway to licensure for foreign licensed architects. It is developed by the Regulatory Organizations of Architecture in Canada (ROAC) and administered by the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB).
The Program assesses broadly based experience of foreign licensed architects against the Canadian Standard of Competency for Architects. Applicants who meet the Program eligibility requirements can apply for BEFA Certification through a process which consists of an on-line self-assessment and an interview with licensed architects in Canada.
We strongly recommend reviewing the Program background information to understand its components and process before you apply. For more information about this program, please consult the CACB’s website.
