The Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) works on behalf of ROAC to assess educational qualifications of individuals holding professional degrees or diplomas in architecture. The CACB’s Certification process confirms that an individual’s academic qualifications are compliant with the Canadian Education Standard (CES) in Architecture for entry into the Internship in Architecture (IAP) program.
The CACB grants and issues Certification to applicants who meet the CES requirements. The organization also maintains a National Register of certified individuals including confidential records for all candidates.
The Canadian Education Standard assesses academic qualifications against the following six subject areas:
- General education and electives
- History of architecture and human behaviour
- Environment
- Design and graphic communications
- Technical systems
- Knowledge and the profession
